I fabricated this as directed, only doubled it. I really liked it, but my married man didn't finish his bowl and said "I'1000 glad you like it- you have lots of leftovers to consume." He said he didn't like the stalks of the bok choy (I left them chopped in large pieces), and said he didn't like the lime gustation in it. I however, really liked it- I will chop the stalks smaller like celery adjacent fourth dimension, and mayhap add a cooked chopped chicken breast, and possibly some red pepper flakes. I also volition just sprinkle the chopped green onions on summit before serving along with the cilantro, as the freshness of the light-green onion disappeared after information technology was cooked. I also added fresh cracked black pepper over the elevation. I will make this again for myself- only not doubling it next time :). 2nd review- This fourth dimension I chopped the bok coy stems smaller, added 1 chopped yellow onion, 1 red pepper and 1 green pepper, ane seeded jalapeno, iv inner stalks of celery and leaves, chopped, sauteed in olive oil, and added a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, 1 tsp. turmeric pulverization, skipped the cilantro and put chopped parsley on top. Did not add any lime juice. Delicious!
I made some changes... instead of regular bok choy, I used Shanghai bok choy. They are smaller and more tender. Detect them at the Asian grocery. I cut the mushrooms medium sized how I like them. Instead of chicken goop, I used vegetable stock since I am vegetarian. I used granulated garlic, ground ginger; ground onion, parsley, and Italian seasoning in the soup. I did non utilize cilantro. I also added cayenne pepper because I like spice. I added a fiddling pink salt and blackness pepper as well. Every bit for the lime, I only added a few drops and taste information technology as it cooked. That manner too much wouldn't exist put information technology and over power the soup considering like isn't a favorite of mine. This way information technology was adjusted to my tastes and very proficient.
1 of our Absolute Favorites!!! We buy high quality mushrooms (not just the usual white caps) and utilize bone broth to make this soup.... it feels like i of the healthiest / most restorative foods that our family eats! I really feel energized later eating it.... so I think that'south a good sign.
This soup is absolutely delicious and very piece of cake to brand! The simply change I would make is to add more vegetables. I had to send this recipe to my friends who raved about information technology when I fabricated it for a quick lunch on a cold day.
This was excellent. I only omitted the cilantro and put the green onions on acme when information technology was done. I am on a keto diet then I added some heavy cream at the end. Will definitely make this again.
One of my favorite soups to make! And you can't really mess it upwardly!
My favorite new soup!! I added small pieces of pork loin to it to go far a total meal! Yummm... I fabricated it 3 times in one calendar week.
yes, this is a uncomplicated soup, just that's what makes it groovy. the season of the bok choy and the mushrooms really came through.
Overall a practiced recipe with a dainty flavor profile (although my wife establish it a bit too spicy). I added a few tablespoons of soy sauce because (a) I idea information technology needed some salt and (b) it seemed like soy sauce would work well with the other ingredients. I was happy with the result.
And then easy, so delicious, so filling and it'southward perfect for both medicine and a meal. I added more ginger for more flu-fighting nutrients. I will make this more oftentimes to help preclude the cold.
This was an admittedly delicious recipe! I would definitely make it once more. If you wanted to add together a little more to the soup, I call up tofu would be a nice bear on.
I used two limes and may of had to much, after I got by the pucker of the lime juice, it was great! I didn't have light-green onions, was not going out to get more. Merely it was existent good and filling!
This is astonishing! I love the lime juice and ginger. I used a mixture of sliced shitakes and infant bella mushrooms. I did cut back on the liquid a bit - used a 32 oz box of chicken broth and ane cup h2o. Very easy. I will be making this over again...and again.
I used a lemon because I didn't have lime, footing ginger, and I added leftover ham. DELISH!
I but added 2 jalapeƱos for a scrap of heat and used eight cups goop. Really hearty soup and the crimini mushrooms make it extra delicious
I made this soup twice considering I thought, "maybe I did something wrong?" Just afterwards two tries with the same results - I'thousand going to say that it'due south but non for me. Information technology'due south a petty also busy and I institute the ingredients to be a little two conflicting. Maybe something simpler for a calorie-free good for you bok choy and mushroom soup.
I dear this! Very easy. My boyfriend did non treat it at all. He'due south not big on brothy soups, prefers stew only I idea information technology was awesome!!!
Very bland and I tried hard to spice it up.
Loved the season philharmonic of ginger root and lime. I halved the recipe and added the juice of one/ii juicy lime. However added 5 slices ginger that I julienned. About tossed in some red pepper flakes before tasting. Glad I didn't. The ginger root was just right. Made homemade craven broth and added 1 chicken thigh, chopped, to make it a main dish. Had a couple of niggling packets of soy sauce from take out. Put those in. Volition make again. I effort to incorporate dissimilar veggies every week. This recipe fit the neb. Thank you for a good recipe.
This is just delicious!!! Added the chili flakes for a kick, and saved the lime juice and cilantro for very end. Just the recipe I was looking for to use a gorgeous head of bok choy. Slicing bok choy very thin, and one or ii cuts lengthwise helps with fitting on the spoon.
A really tasty and simple recipe. I'm always looking for ways to utilise bok choy and I really enjoyed this. I loved the add-on of lime juice. It adds a squeamish subtle tang. I thought this needed a touch of salt before serving, but this will depend on what kind of chicken broth y'all use. Soy sauce would be a overnice addition besides. Thanks for the yummy recipe!
I added chicken and some kale to it. I boiled chicken breaststroke and cut it into pieces. Added some fresh kale to the pot. It turned out delicious.
Loved the flavors in this soup! Modified a fleck based on bachelor ingredients. Added a little ginger. And some chicken. Next time will add some red pepper flakes for more boot.
Didn't really care for this one! Non terrible, not but a soup I will brand again.
This is the first time I have had bok choy. This soup turned out then adept I had to make a review even though I did not make it exactly. I added a niggling kale and used bouillon and improve than bouillon to the base, added crimson pepper flakes, ground ginger instead of the real thing, and regular onions in the soup instead of dark-green. I know people don't similar it when you lot alter the recipe and make a review but the recipe deserves credit for giving me the thought of trying it. Information technology is really skilful.
and then unproblematic and then astonishing. fifty-fifty my kids loved information technology!
This recipe has become one of my favorites! Thank you. I add sliced carrots, tofu and vegetarian goop. There is a new dumbo tofu that u don't take to squeeze the water out and it works perfectly...simply slice it upward!
I was looking for a broth based soup and this fit the pecker. I used half olive oil and half butter for the sauteeing. Delicious with out existence besides filling. Lori 50.
It was just what I was craving! I cooked chicken in a wearisome crock pot so it fell autonomously into tender chicken piffling pieces. My husband liked chunks better though and then I'll just cut it side by side fourth dimension. Don't utilize boullion though it made information technology too salty!
I added chicken .DELICIOUS!!!!
Had rice noodles in an opened package, so I threw those in, besides. Delicious!
A friend recommended this recipe to me. I had a HUGE bok choy from my CSA. I chopped a good deal of the white stems (kind of like you might chop celery). I didn't use all of the mushrooms considering a pound of crimini would have price $8 on auction! I might not know where to buy mushrooms! But this soup was great and I'd definitely make it over again.
We grew a bunch of Bok Choy and idea this would be a great soup but the lime RUINED it! I didnt even put the full corporeality in. The flavor came out too tangy and we threw it all out. I will endeavor this again some other time and leave out the lime.
I made the soup for half dozen serving when it's only for me and my mom....so delicious! All the flavors come together very well. Highly recommend.
